- Lunch buffet at the popular Chesapeake Seafood House
- Drive by Lincoln Depot where Lincoln departed for an uncertain future in Washington, D. C.
- Tour Lincoln’s Home of seventeen years (1844-1861), a national historic site
- Tour the First Presbyterian Church, to see the wonderful Tiffany windows and family pew
- Tour the Dana-Thomas House, one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s finest prairie-style homes
- Hotel welcome reception
- Dinner at historic Maldaner’s Restaurant
- Special after-dinner program: Portraits of a President in Words and Music by Fritz Klein
Saturday, May 6, 2006
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel
- Tour Shea’s Gas Station Museum, a favorite stop for Route 66 travelers
- Tour the “new” Illinois State Capitol, built in 1877
- Tour the Executive Mansion, home of the Illinois governor
- Stop at Lincoln’s Tomb, final resting place of Abraham, Mary Todd, Tad, Eddie and Willie
- Visit the Funeral Customs Museum to view a recreated 1870-era home funeral
- Walk by the Old State Capitol and the Lincoln Law Office
- Lunch at the Feed Store on your own
- Tour the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and learn the story of our nation’s 16th president
- Enjoy wine and a delicious box dinner on your way home with memories of a great tour!
