Join us for a rain-or-shine day designed to captivate young generations of Pioneers (including children and grandchildren of Society members), although all ages are welcome! Arrive by 9:30 am at the Mounds State Park Nature Center, and enjoy an interactive day that includes:

  • A tour of the Native American Mound Complex that is over 2000 years old.
  • A visit to the Mounds State Park Nature Center that contains exhibits about the Mounds, local wildlife, and the historic Bronnenberg family.
  • A look inside the restored Bronnenberg Home built by some of the earliest European settlers in Madison County.
  • Interactive, hands-on activities and demonstrations of pioneer skills, such as candle making, loom weaving, and flint knapping.

The cost is $35.00 per person, and includes park admission, presentation costs, a box lunch, and a donation to the site. Participants must provide their own transportation to Mounds State Park.
