Proving your ancestors is a key part of the application process to become a member of the Society of Indiana Pioneers. You may already have an Indiana ancestor who’s been proven and is in our database! You can look them up using the search form on the following page.

If your ancestor isn’t already in the database, you can provide details to have them proven. You may even make it possible for other prospective members to trace their heritage to your ancestor.

The Society ancestor database is also a source of genealogical information for current members.

This Ancestor Biography section is a new project of the Society!

We’re still in the early stages, but you can take a peek to see what is coming. Our ancestors went through a lot to keep their families fed and cared for which means that there are a lot of stories to be told.

If you have brief stories about your ancestors that you’re willing to share with other Society members, send them to the Society office by mail or email and we’ll include them in this section!
